Sequelitis

Ladies and Gentlecars . . . I mean, gentlemen! (I've watched Pixar's Cars every day for the past two weeks with my son, you'll have to excuse me.) I have finished the sequel to Dragon Slippers, tentatively titled Dragon Helm. All I have to do now is show it to my agent, see what she thinks, make any changes she thinks would help, send it to my editor, begin the long editing process, and voila! In about two years we'll have a finished book! So those of you who are thinking, Hey, where's the sequel to Dragon Slippers? (You know who you are, you've been emailing me!) Worry no more! Sometime in 2009 you'll have your sequel. Unless, of course, either my agent or editor hates it so much that I have to scrap the whole thing. . . .

Congrats! Every finished draft is such a major accomplishment, especially the draft that's ready to send off.

Whoo hoo!!! That's great! But it doesn't make me all that happy because I know my children are going to start asking any day now how long it will be before your next book! They are loving Dragon Slippers! And they think it is so cool that they know you. When Pippin came into the picture, they couldn't believe it. They love Pippin! And I can definitely relate to the Cars thing. We watched it everyday for a full month after Christmas. Yikes!

YAY! thanks for telling us! Great job on "giving birth" to another manuscript! It has to be rough and a rush all at once!

Keep up the good work!

Dragon Slippers came in the mail yesterday. I stayed up until 11:30pm reading it (which is late for me.) I stuck Caleb in front of the tv this afternoon so I could finish it. In other words, I loved it. My favorite parts were the Jessica-isms like how her cousins would go to the caves with their "swains to conoodle" or "Well, la for him!" Very cool and I am so proud that I know the author! Thanks for a great book. It's one I was very glad I bought. I also like the website with Creel's dress and the dogs. I can't wait for the sequel and I really can't wait for Black Wool Chain.
