Thursdays on a Friday...

How much do we love the David Hohn covers for my books?

SO MUCH?

The correct answer is SO MUCH!

I have looked forward to seeing the final covers for every one of my books like it's Christmas, and you know how much I love Christmas!  I mean, look at these gorgeous new DRAGON SLIPPERS covers!

Webmaster Mikey says that SPEAR is his favorite, but I have to admit that I cried a little when I saw SLIPPERS.  It's Shardas and Creel in his cave!  So beautiful!

These are available now, wherever fine books are sold, as paperbacks!  Buy one (or all three) today!

Wait . . . you think I should give away a set?  Well, all right!  Leave a comment to enter to win a set of the DRAGON SLIPPERS trilogy with fancy new covers!

And now on to THURSDAYS!  I think it's safe to say that the cover of THURSDAYS did not disappoint.  I love it wholeheartedly, and so will you!

So without further ado, I present the cover of THURSDAYS WITH THE CROWN, which will hit the shelves October 7th, 2014!

Do you love it?  I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCH!

I love it so much that I am about to give away an advanced reader copy!  THAT'S RIGHT, KIDS!  Comment and you could win an advance copy of THURSDAYS WITH THE CROWN!!!!  Do it now!  I will close the contest on Saturday night at 10 pm!

  20. As you're already aware, my mom and I are SO EXCITED for the release! I love that Dragon Slippers pays homage to the character design of the first edition but totally reinvents it so beautifully. I can see why you feared up! I'll be recommending the reissued covers to a lot of people at my Barnes & Noble. :)

And Thursdays with the Crown! Aaahhh it's so beautiful! That crown is gorgeous.

  28. We love your books so much. I read the beginning of Tuesdays at the Castle to my fourth graders right before summer break last year and about half the class came back having read it. If nine year old boys admit reading a book about a princess, you know it is good. They will be so excited to hear about the third.

  29. Neat Covers! I gave my daughter "Dragon Slippers" for her birthday last year, and then "Tuesdays at the Castle" was the first library book of Mine that she swiped and read first :-)
PS - Em got to meet Shannon Hale last week and asked her if she knew You... I think you two are "tied" as her favorite authors...

  40. Oooh, pretty! The Dragon Slippers trilogy is probably my favorite, although I couldn't tell you which of the books in the series I like best. Or maybe it's the Castle Glower books I like best. I can't decide, they're both so good!! And the covers all look amazing.

  41. I love the Dragon Slippers trilogy. These were the books I found when my daughter was struggling to find a book to read that was advanced enough for her reading level but without anything too advanced for her maturity/age level. We have anxiously awaited Thursdays. Hooray and Congrats!!!

  46. I absolutely love the Dragon Slippers trilogy. I remember when I first picked up Dragon Slippers. I just needed something to read while I waited for some Bryan Davis books to come in and I had picked up Dragon Slippers and was reading the first page to check out Jessica's writing style. I ended up staying up till two o'clock in the morning to finish it and it ( along with Dragon Flight and Dragon Spear) are on the top of my list of favorite books.

Anywho, I'm currently wiping my face with a napkin. I am literally drooling over those new covers.

  50. I noticed new covers at B&N the other night! I was going to say something, but didn't. I'm not a huge fan of cover changes, but I like your new covers! I'm glad you love your covers. It is sad when authors hate their covers. Darn marketing!

  51. I love the books and covers! My students especially love the books. They are a great addition to the classroom library.

  63. I left a comment on Goodreads, but I wasn't sure if it was supposed to go on your blog instead. Just in case, I said that even if I hated your books (which couldn't be further from the truth) I would buy them for the cover art.

  64. Perfect timing for Thursdays in my world! Tuesdays is on the Virginia Readers Choice list and our students will be begging for all three as school gets rolling!

  65. My whole family loves Dragon Slipoers and the Castle and The Twekve Dancing Princesses series! I get them first, then my daughter, then my son, then my other daughter! You're right, the new cover for Dragon Slippers is exquisite! And we are so excited about the new book! What I love best about the illustrations is that the artist obviously READ YOUR BOOKS, and loves them too. So often, that is not true for an illustrator. Congratulations!

Is it too late to enter in the contest? I have had shaky internet for a month and we just got it fixed.

  78. I just this minute finished Wednesdays in the Tower and I yelled at / to my husband, "I have to get upstairs and find out if that woman (sorry Jessica) has written the next book yet!!!!!!!"
And you have! and I love the cover. I am a great reader of Young Adult fiction, and dearly loved your other books. Wish October 7th didn't seem so far away, and that I hadn't already gotten a ticket to fly to see the grandkids that day, but well....I can feel the twist in my head that says the castle is changing something, so perhaps I will find my copy in the mailbox on my return! "Silver in the Blood" looks exciting! (I'll bet it explains why the bullets must be of that material) Anyhoo, thanks for entertaining an old lady and "bookoos" of kids with your tales!
