DRAGON SPEAR

Yes, it's time for the big reveal!

The third book about Creel and the dragons will be called:

DRAGON SPEAR

Coming in April, 2009!

What's a dragon spear? you ask.  "TELL ME MORE!"

NO!  NEVER!

I am pure and dedicated to my art, and shall not sully this final book in the trilogy by giving away any secrets! So do me a favor: don't email me and ask me to tell "just you" the whole plot, or asking if you can read the manuscript because you are my biggest fan.  I get a lot of these requests, and I'm sorry but I just CAN'T!

I will tell you two things, though.  First of all, yes, this is the last book about Creel and Shardas and the rest of their cohorts.  After Dragon Spear, they get to rest.  I may write other books set in Feravel, but not about these particular characters.  Sorry, but them's the breaks.

And the second detail?  Fainting goats!  I love fainting goats, so I decided that they should make an appearance.  Don't know about the fainting goats?  Check them out:

I don't have any cover art yet, but it's coming, and I'll post it as soon as I get it.  It's once again drawn by Brandon Dorman, who has done the paperback cover of DRAGON SLIPPERS and the cover of DRAGON FLIGHT.

Well, it's 9:30 in the morning and I'm still in my PJ's and trying to type with a baby clad in nothing but a diaper and a flannel blanket in my lap, so I think I'll leave you all to mull over this information while I get dressed.  But first a shout-out to the wonderful Guy Gavriel Kay, whose book YSABEL just won the World Fantasy Award.  It's a great, great book, and Guy deserves the award (and more)!

    Woo-hoo! I am so excited that you are going to have fainting goats in DRAGON SPEAR (we'll meet a dragon who collects them, right?) that I think I'll fall over with my arms and legs sticking up in the air.

    I just read Dragon Slippers, but loved it and am eargerly awaiting Dragon Flight to come in the mail. So happy to hear their will be another, and I can't wait to read it! Jessica Day George, you got some sense of humor. :D

    congratulations on the baby girl! i started reading your books yesterday, and I'm on the second book already! I'm so excited! I cant wait to read the third book!:) But,when i really get attached to a book, i get seriously upset when the story comes to an end! :( Will you write more books about Feravel, and mention Creel and Luka, sort of like "The Goose Girl" series, where the sequels tell the stories of characters already mentioned in the first book? I would love to read more abot Feravel! You should seriously keep writing more! Ending Creel, Luka, and the dragons would be a HUGE mistake! I mean... a lot of your readers are already upset! We don't want the adventure to end!!!!!

    Jessica I am IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES!!!! I just got done reading Dragon Flight and Creel and Luka are jsut soo cute!! I will read Dragon Spear next but please consider making a 4th book because im sure many others love to read your books! JESSICA YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

    Yay! I really, really love Dragonskin Slippers, Dragon Flight and i bet Dragon Spear will be equally as fantastic! I think you sshould definitely consider writing more books about Creel, Luka, Marta, dragons, etc... When i start reading one of your books i can't put it down! As soon as Dragon Spear come out in the shops i'll be there! Your series of dragon books is one of my most favourite series of all time!
    P.S. Is there a certain date in April for when Dragon Spear is supposed to come out?
